Ever wonder what it was? Or how to get that cup of coffee or lemonade they sometimes promote on the billboard? ME TOO! For years, YEARS, I would drive past it, and couldn’t figure out where the entrance was. I laugh at myself now, because I’ve been there several times, and I’ve bought 2 bags of coffee grounds from them so far, and I love their product!

What is Coffee King?

If you love coffee like I do, then Coffee King will become your favorite place to patronize once you find out what they do here.

To start, they specialize in Caturra coffee. Developed in Brazil in 1937, it is distinguished by its bright acidity and low-to-medium body. And the Caturra tree is found throughout Columbia, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. If you visit Stumptown’s coffee website, you will read about how many different coffee varieties there are, and come to realize why it’s such a profitable, everchanging and expansive business.

The Caturra website, describes and defines Caturra in more detail. It is a STUNNING website. Aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate. 

The Coffee King website introduces you to the services they provide and the products they sell. Need a new coffee machine? Have a question regarding your coffee maker? Want to know what “Tea Equipment” is? They have your answers.

They even have the recipes on how to make your favorite coffee, tea and smoothie drinks. Wanna know how to make a Crème Brulee Latte? Yeah, yah do! No secrets here!

How to get there

The first time I tried finding this place…I must have drove past it four times! But the easiest way to describe how to get there is to continue on 3^rd street heading East. Pass T&W Tire and drive towards the Floyd Bridge. There right under the bridge it’s tucked away.

Duck, duck, no more goose

Founded by the Goosmann Family in the 1970s, and with 40 years of experience, they travel to learn more about their trade, and study with world recognized professionals. They even ship to all 50 states and worldwide. And just this past year the Goosmann’s sold their business to Stacy Orndorff, you may know her from her coffee food truck Coffee & Nosh, which she sold prior to the acquisition of Coffee King. So, you technically can call her the “Coffee Queen”.

To date, my husband and I have bought a 1-pound bag nearly every other month, religiously, for the past four years. As a result, we have probably tried almost every flavor and various different kinds of roasts, that we can give an honest and knowledgeable review of this business. I paid $12 + tax for a 1-pound bag. This may seem pricy, but if you’ve been drinking grocery store brands your whole life, you need to give them a chance. I cannot explain how smooth and beautiful their coffee is. When I walked in to buy my 2 bags, I chose the flavor I wanted from their extensive list. They combined the Blueberry Crème syrup with whole beans, then grounded them up fresh for me. Oh the smell! Like a cupcake factory. And finally, this has become one our most favorite monthly stops, and the staff is always so amazing.
